Walking Sticks
Just Keep Going!!
I wrote a post about this on 9/28/19 and I promised to put a page in the resources section. So here you go…

That being said, I wanted to share with you about my “sticks”. This is a tool that I can only use when I’m feeling good and not dyskinetic. But what a difference it makes, I feel more independent, can stand up straight, and maneuver around things easier but with support. The great thing about the sticks is that I can put them where I need the balance assistance.
I have trouble managing the walker on the uneven pavement and spending so much energy moving the walker along, so my actual walking suffers. But with the sticks, they are so much lighter and easier to manage I walk long safely and the person walking with me can just spot me in the back. This is so much easier than trying to hold me up as I balance, and sometimes pull.
